:sigh:
I was trying to work on a fantasy piece but it was giving me fits. I fought with it most of January before deciding it wasn't worth the aggravation. It maybe that I didn't have enough pre-planning done before I jumped in and tried to write. Whatever the reason, I've set it aside. I'm not pitching it out, the characters still talk to me on occasion, rather letting it simmer.
I've moved on to revising the story I finished in November for NaNo. I've dealt with character and plot holes (I hope), sketched out scenes I knew were missing plus a few more that are part of an idea that hit me in December after I'd set the story aside to rest a bit. I'm excited to be working on this again.
- Goal is to get Let Me Be Your Prince revised and off to Jewels for that first read -- aiming for March 23rd.
Yes, only the one goal at this point. Working on LMBYP has already given me an idea for yet another story :head desk:
The mini-goals within that larger one are:
- Act One by March 2nd
- Act Two part One by March 9th
- Act Two part Two by March 16th
- Act Three by March 23rd
Yikes. Now, I have to be accountable!

Are you a plotter or a pantser? Plotting--even skimpy plotting helps me get to the next chapter.
I'm trying to be more of a plotter. Though my characters tend to be stronger when I wing it the story is usually weak.
LMBYP is a combination. I allowed myself to wing it between the main plot points: Inciting Incident, First Plot (turning) Point, First Pinch Point, Midpoint, Second Pinch Point, Second Plot (turning) Point, and a Third Pinch Point.
The fantasy piece is more plot right now, and may actually be over ambitious for my skills at this point, but like I said the characters are still talking to me. I'll come back to it :)
