Fantastic Food Friday: Easy Hamburger Stroganoff

1 lb lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1/4 cup butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
10 ounce can mushrooms, drained
10 ounce can cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream

Brown ground beef until fully cooked.  Add butter, onions, and garlic.  Continue browning for 3 to 5 minutes.  Stir in flour, salt, pepper, and mushrooms.  Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes.  Stir in soup.  Heat to a boil, stirring constantly; reduce heat.  Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.  Stir in sour cream and heat through.  Serve over hot egg noodles.

I love a good hamburger stroganoff, but I usually make the cheaters' boxed version. ;) Thanks for the recipe!

You're welcome...this has become one of our favorites. I'm a bit of a food snob so the thought of a box...blah, LOL.
