Update

The Spaniel was adopted yesterday...happy to see she found a home. One of the dogs we saw and liked at Lied was adopted.

Today's newspaper had an article about the shelters here being overcrowded and adoptions aren't keeping pace with "unwanted" pets in our struggling economy. In the last six months more people have been surrendering their pets due to losing their homes and/or jobs. Nevada has one of the highest foreclosure rates in the nation...and the shelters can't keep up. Animals are being turned away or worse euthanized due to this sad state of affairs.

I obviously won't be sharing this info with the boys but I have a very heavy heart right now.

Ohhh. I can feel your pain Sherri. That is a little sad that your landlord won't allow pets. I do however understand the reasoning. I don't know what I would do without my baby. We didn't have a dog for about 3 years when we decided to get her. I don't regret one minute.

Tracy has mentioned to me a number of times that the shelters are severly overcrowded. It is truly sad.

I hope everything else is going well with you all.

That is so sad. I feed our neighborhood stray cats, and I know I should probably take them to a shelter (one froze to death last winter), but I just know they'd probably be put down.
