1st Day of School

My 3rd grader...man is he growing up fast. We nicknamed him CAM after his initials because we didn't want him saddled with Chuck or Charlie for nicknames. Well, he's going by CHARLES now. Where oh where did my little boy go...
My kindergartner...wow is he excited about school. I really hope he doesn't lose that. Mark made it home in time to take Alex to school today. We got to the school, I set Alex up at a table where he started coloring the picture set out for him, and I went back to where Mark was standing. "Is he going to be alright?" Mark asked me...I looked over and Alex was wrapped up in his coloring without a care in the world...no worries.
I met the bus this afternoon...about a dozen kids got off before I glimpsed Cam and Alex through the windshield of the bus. This was the only picture I was able to get today. Still wasn't able to get them with their teachers today.

This school is so big! The boys seemed to take it in stride and had a great day. It was total chaos this morning when we took Cam in. We got there a good 15 minutes early and the first bell had rung before we made it to his classroom. It was a bit better when we took Alex in. Again got there about 15 minutes early and as the kinder rooms are slightly separated from the other classrooms we were able to walk through the kinder playground right into Alex's class. Was a bit disturbed to learn after dropping him off that the reason his class is so large (45 students) is due to the fact that the other two kinder rooms have been set aside for full day classes. So instead of 6 half day classes there is only 2. Well the PTA is trying to fix it with the district (believe me when I have contact info the district will be hearing from this parent!) but in the mean time there appears to be a ton of volunteers helping the teacher.

The only hang up was that Cam forgot whether he was being picked up or riding the bus home so the school called and we got that all fixed. All in all a good day.
