Finding the new school. Enrolling. Purchasing school supplies. Purchasing school "uniforms" for the first time in our lives. All of which is interesting to do the last two weeks before school starts. Supplies and uniforms are in short supply (no pun intended).
Tonight we went to the Open House...holy stinking cow is that school big. Lil small town girl that I am was in shock...I would have been scared to death as a Kinder walking into that, Alex took it in stride and made a "friend" in orientation.
I was hoping to take pictures of the boys with their teachers...there were so many people we were lucky to get a nod hello. I expect the First Day will be just as crazy. Student-Teacher photos may just need to wait until the first conference.
Alex took over my camera to take a picture of the "castle" he and Ian made with "Papa's Blocks" so it's not all work LOL (Best gift in the world, Dad!)
The boys' rooms are still a long way from being home. We haven't gotten out yet to buy new beds for everyone so the boys are "camping" in their rooms. They're still having fun with it so all is good.
Sometimes an empty shelf makes a good bed. Robbie discovered that the shelf in the entertainment unit is just his size LOL
Robbie is so different from the other boys. He's my only thumb sucker...and I really need to break him of it. He's become a "tag boy" as he has to have something with a tag that he can finger in order to go to sleep. Any tag will do...on his blanket, a stuffed animal, his PJ's, etc...and his right thumb securely fixed in his mouth.
His vocabulary has taken off. It's like he went to sleep one night and woke the next day with twice as many words. He's stringing more words together too. He's just growing way to fast I need him to stay little just a little bit longer.
Today we found the "park" in our development. A couple basketball courts, a volleyball net, a horseshoe whatever they call it, a couple metal (are they nuts?) benches and picnic tables with a small bit of...are you ready?...real grass.
We walked out the front door at 10:36am walked down to where the bus stop is and then around the development in search of the park. Even with our stopping so I could try and get a photo or two we were walking back in our front door at 11:01am and the kids were "dying" LOL
School starts Monday, this should be interesting. The bus will let the boys off at about 3:45pm and I'll have to be waiting for them and we'll have to walk the 1/8 of a mile home.
